課程概述

This course will introduce the characteristics and the associated mechanisms of the planet-scale circulation in the atmosphere. Topics include: zonal mean meridional circulation, mid-latitude transient eddies, storm tracks, global monsoon circulations, Walker circulations, and low frequency variation of circulation. The observed and model projected trend of these circulations will be covered by paper discussions led by students.
